   Aloha! I had a great time at these events last year. Met a lot of wonderful people, and made many new friends. Please continue to support our local merchants, farmers, artisans, students, and other members of our wonderful Hawai`i Island Community!
Standing Gigs:

Thursdays, 4:00 - 6:00 - Join me for "Friday Eve" pau hana at Kope Kope in the old Hilo Shopping Center. Let's get caffinated!  Thursday December 18, I will NOT be at Kope Kope.                                            Right - At the Kope Kope

First Thursday, each month, weather permitting - Hawaiian Constellations Storytelling and singing at the Onizuka Visitor Center on Mauna Kea (9,000 ft. level). Program starts with a chant at sunset. Then I'll sing some songs I've written about my experiences here, and tell stories about the Hawaiian constellations.
                           

July, 2003

Sunday, July 13 - Wahine Run - Leilehua plays music for Island-wide ladies run to Keokea in a "Celebration of Women Riders." Start points in Kona and Hilo. In Kona gather at the Old Airport at 9:00 am. In Hilo, gather at Mo`oheau Park at 9:00 am. 9:30 departure time. Phone 326-2451 for more information. Also includes "phone-raiser" for the Bay Clinic. Bring dead cellphones and give them to Leilehua, who will take them to the clinic which will turn them in for money.

Saturday, July 19 - Leilehua tells Hawaiian stories and legends of Poliahu and the other beings which inhabit the heights of Mauna Kea.  6:00 pm at the Onizuka Center for International Astronomy at the 9,000 foot elevation of Mauna Kea.

Saturday, July 26 - Leilehua and the Lehua Serenaders perform in front of the Kilauea Theater for the Volcano Art Center Wilderness Run.

August, 2003

Sunday, August 10 - Saturday, August 16 - Leilehua teaches traditional Hawaiian crafts at  Keola Beamer's Aloha Music Camp. For educational support material for Leielhua's classes, click HERE.

Saturday, August 23 - Leilehua demonstrates and teaches hula at the Volcano Art Center from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm.

September, 2003

Saturday, Sep 6 - 5th anniversary celebration for Laupahoehoe Train Museum, 10:00 - 4:00, Live music by Leilehua Yuen and the Lehua Serenaders, climbing wall, food, games, "Rusty" the switch engine will be running. Lots of history will be shared.

Saturday, Sept 27 - Hilo Bay Clinic Ladies' Night Out at the Hilo Shopping Center. An evening of entertainment and pampering for the ladies. Phone the Bay Clinic at 969-1427 for more information. Leilehua will be perfoming her own songs as well as covers.

December, 2003

Friday, December 5 - Jesse Colin Young, Vito Truglio, and the Magic Strings at the Holualoa Festival of Lights. Leilehua dances hula with her friends for a fun community evening. Click newspaper image for story.
